Conventional Rounding

Komet Sales uses conventional rounding to round off the prices of products at the line level. If a line’s price has more than two decimal points, it gets rounded off when adding products to the Order Entry system.

Info

To prevent considerable changes to prices, the system will apply the rounding to the total line price and not the unit price.

What is conventional rounding?

Conventional rounding is a method used to simplify numbers. By rounding a number, you shorten it while still keeping it close in value. If the digit to the right of the one you want to round is 5 or greater, you add 1 to the digit you're rounding. If it's 4 or lower, you leave the digit as it is. For instance, when rounding 3.777, since 7 is greater than 5, you round up to 3.78. This technique helps to make numbers more manageable and comprehensible.
