Komet Sales allows you to activate a countdown timer for the e-commerce so your buyers know how much time remains to complete the checkout process and at the same time ensures that the shopping cart cannot be abandoned. The default time buyers will have to complete their orders is 60 minutes or less, as the timer also considers shipping cut-offs of the vendors.

    How Does the Timer Work?

    1. The system administrator enables the timer from the company settings and decides if the system should send email notifications to

    salespeople
    1. the salesperson when an order expires.

    Buyers
    1. Customers log in to the e-commerce site, and the countdown starts

    as soon as
    1. when they add the first product to their shopping cart.

    2. If the

    maximum time is reached before the customer checks out the order, this will be canceled.The customer will receive a notification on the screen and through their email as well. This informs
    1. timer expires, the system cancels the order and empties the shopping cart.

    Note: If the timer finishes before the order is checked out, the system will cancel the order or Prebook generated. If the products come from the K2K Integration, all Prebooks and Purchase Orders created will also be canceled.

    Enable the E-Commerce Timer

    1. Go to Setup and select Settings.

    2. Click on E-Commerce Timer from the E-Commerce group of settings.

    3. Check the Enable 60-minute Timer setting.

    4. Optional: Enable email notifications for customers and salespersons when the timer cancels an order.

    5. Click Save.

    The default time of the e-commerce timer is 60 minutes. However, this time may be reduced for orders with a ship date equal to the current date. In these cases, the system will validate the chosen carrier's cut-off time and the original source of the products added.     titleIs there any way you can stop the timer?

    There is no way to pause the timer. The timer only resets in two different scenarios:

    • When you complete the checkout process.

    • When the shopping cart is empty. If you remove the items from your shopping cart, the e-commerce timer will restart.
