When customers have been invoiced for certain box numbers

and these

that need to be shipped out, the shipping scan process comes into play. There are two

scan

options available for the shipping process, namely, by Pick Ticket (option 1) or by Carrier (option 2). We recommend choosing the "Pick Ticket" option

since this option optimizes the puller's work

, as it helps optimize the workflow of the puller in the warehouse.

The scan by Pick Ticket option can be carried out by Lot number or by Box number. We strongly recommend you to scan by Box number since it will ensure you are shipping the correct box.

if for any reason, during the shipping process a label of an inventory box is scanned which does not match the shipping label, but it has the same lot #, the system will swap the positions of both boxes in order to avoid inventory issues. This works both for the two and three scans shipping modes.

The system will avoid that the same shipping label to be scanned more than once during the shipping process, it . If this is the case, the system will return a message informing that.

Shipping Scan by Box # (Three Scans)

This is the recommended option to be completely sure you are scanning the correct boxes and shipping the right product. You must scan in the next order: pick ticket, inventory box code, and shipping labels.  The The users in the warehouse have to scan the customer shipping labels to ship the boxes that correspond to the customer's order. You must contact Komet Sales to have this option activated.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Login into the scan gun.

  2. Select option #2 (Shipping).

  3. Select the Pick Ticket Option (number 1)

  4. Scan the pick ticket barcode

  5. Scan the Inventory Box Code

  6. Repeat the three-scans process with the next box. Once you have finished, the scan gun will report on the Counter how many boxes were Scan were Scanned and Completed based on the information provided from the scanned Pick Ticket.

Shipping Scan By Lot #

This is a faster way to proceed, but there is a high risk of shipping the wrong product. You must scan the pick ticket and the inventory box code.

Follow the steps below}To scan by Lot #, do the following instructions:

  1. Login to the Scan Gun.

  2. Select option #2 (Shipping)

  3. Select the Pick Ticket option #1

  4. Scan the pick ticket bar code.

  5. Scan the Inventory Box Code

  6. Repeat the three scans process with the next box. Once you have finished, the scan gun will report on the Counter how many boxes were Scan Completed based on the information provided from the scanned Pick Ticket.

Assign Pullers during the Shipping Process

The system allows assigning a Puller during the shipping process by pick ticket:

For To assign a Puller to an Order, follow the next steps:

  1. Login into the scan gun.

  2. Select option #2 (Shipping).

  3. Select the Pick Ticket Option (number 1)

  4. Enter the Puller Code and password if required. Once you do that, you can continue with the shipping process.

  5. The system allows you to change the puller anytime you want to during the shipping process, even if the boxes have not been completely scanned. Just scan the new puller code with the scan gun and the new puller will be assigned:

Shipping Cross-Dock Boxes

If you are scanning cross-dock boxes, do the following instructions to make the outbound scan:

  1. Select option 2 (Shipping) in the scanner gun.

  2. Select option 2 (Carrier).

  3. Select the date you are scanning the boxes for.

  4. Enter the carrier code.

  5. Scan the box labels and load them to ship.

When you are doing this scanning process, the system will validate the label information with the order. If the information doesn’t match, the scan gun will prompt you and ask you to reprint the label with the updated information.

Scanning Status and Missing Boxes

Users have the option to view the scanning status of the order and the missing boxes within the pick ticket while scanning boxes within it. Simply press the H key during the shipping process.

Show Missing Boxes

Once you press the H key, the system will display several options, ; press the M key in order to show the missing boxes:

You can enter the lot # in order to display the missing boxes within that lot or just press Enter to show the missing boxes within the last scanned pick ticket:

 In this case, we hit the enter key so the system displays the missing boxes within the pick ticket:

Show Order Summary

Once you press the H key, the system will display several options, ; press the S key in order to view a summary of the scanning status of the orders within the pick ticket.

Once the user presses S, the system will display a summary of the orders scanned since the last time the user Reset the Counter (by pressing the R key).

Press enter to continue with the scanning shipping process.
