Komet Sales allows the user to open boxes from the Inventory Summary to convert them into units.

These options are only available if the Sell by Units is activated.  You can open a single box one at a time or massively.

The system allows to prevent boxes from being opened once they are confirmed in the Staging Area by checking the option Don't Open. This column can be enabled by clicking on the gear icon>>custom columns option.

titleInstructions for Opening Single Boxes

Follow these steps:

Go to Inventory > Inventory Summary

Ui step

 Click on the "inventory in boxes" link

Ui step

 Click on the "Search" button to use the filters and find the boxes that are going to be opened

Ui step

Under the Actions column, click on the "Open Boxes" option. 

Ui step

The Confirm window will pop-up, fill in the information required. Click on the "Open Boxes" green button.

In this window, you are able to do the following:

  • Enable the options "Print Box Labels" and/or "Print UPC Labels", these will print once the boxes are opened.
  • Ability to change the unit type of the item that is being opened.
  • Based on the new unit type, the system will suggest a new price of the item and the GPM is updated automatically as well.

Once you click on the Open Boxes button the "Print Labels" window will pop up, select the printer or PDF option according to your needs. Then Click on the "Print" green button.

 Once the boxes have been opened, the product will appear in the "inventory in units" screen.

titleInstructions for Opening Boxes Massively

The system allows opening boxes massively (max 50 boxes). For doing that, follow the next steps:

Go to Inventory>>Inventory Summary.

  Use the available filters to search for products.

Ui step

Select the lines with the boxes to open and click on the Open Boxes gray button. The Confirm window will open indicating the number of boxes to open (It should not exceed 50 boxes). Enter the same boxes number in the Quantity to Open field and click on Continue.

Once you click on Continue a confirmation window will appear at the bottom right corner of the screen indicating that the selected boxes have been opened. The Print Labels window will open, where you can print the Box Labels or the UPC labels if needed.

When the settings Prebook in units must be billed as boxes and Automatically Move Open Market boxes to Inventory in Units are disabled and the Automatic Billing is enabled for units,  the system will open the boxes with units already presold once they are confirmed in the Staging Area.
