Overview

Excerpt

Komet Sales allows you to activate a countdown timer for the e-commerce so your buyers know how much time remains to complete the checkout process and at the same time ensures that the shopping cart cannot be abandoned. The default time buyers will have to complete their orders is 60 minutes or less, as the timer also considers shipping cut-offs of the vendors.

Warning
titleImportant
  • Companies connected through K2K integration as Buyer Companies will have the e-commerce timer enabled by default.
  • This option applies to all inventory types, including open market, future inventory, K2K and Vendor Availability.

titleHow does this option work?
  1. Admins enable and set up a 60-minute e-commerce timer.
  2. Admins decide whether the system should send email notifications to salespeople.
  3. Buyers log in to the e-commerce site and the countdown starts as soon as they add the first product to their shopping cart.
  4. If the maximum time is reached before the customer checks out the order, this will be canceled.
  5. The customer will receive a notification on the screen and through their email as well. This informs that the order has been canceled, so they have to place it again.

FAQs

Expand
titleWhen does the e-commerce timer start?

The timer starts when you add the first product to your shopping cart.

Expand
titleWhat is the default time for the e-commerce timer?

The default time of the e-commerce timer is 60 minutes. However, this time may be reduced for orders with a ship date equal to the current date. In these cases, the system will validate the chosen carrier's cut-off time and the original source of the products added. The system will inform you of what is available and warn you of early shipping cut-off times. For more information, read E-Commerce Checkout Errors.

Expand
titleIs there any way you can stop the timer?

There is no way to pause the timer. The timer only resets in two different scenarios:

  • When you complete the checkout process.

  • When the shopping cart is empty. If you remove the items from your shopping cart, the e-commerce timer will restart.
