Tokens

Tokens are an authentication mechanism that allows access to the API methods. This article explains how to create and manage tokens.

There are three types of tokens available: Company, Customer and Vendor.

Each token has access to different methods. If you want to see the methods available for each token, you can search by token-type or you can see a chart with every method available in the following articles:

Create a token

To create a token and select permissions, please follow these instructions:

  1. Go to Setup and select Settings.

  2. Click on Tokens from the Integrations group.

  3. Click on New Token.

  4. Input the token description in the Description field.

  5. Select the Token Type.

  6. Check the box next to the methods you want the token to have access to.

  7. Click on Save.

If you are creating a token for a customer, be sure to share it with them after you create it.


Find a token

To search a token and review it’s information, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to Setup and select Settings.

  2. Click on Tokens from the Integrations group.

  3. Input the description or the token.

  4. Click on Search.


Manage tokens

You can add access to additional API methods, modify information, and delete tokens from the Tokens pop-up. The following instructions guide you through this process:

Edit a token

  1. Go to Setup and select Settings.

  2. Click on Tokens from the Integrations group.

  3. Input the description or the token.

  4. Click on Search.

  5. Click on the button in the Actions column.

  6. Select Edit.

  7. Edit the information you need.

  8. Click on Save.

Delete a token

  1. Go to Setup and select Settings.

  2. Click on Tokens from the Integrations group.

  3. Input the description or the token.

  4. Click on Search.

  5. Click on the button in the Actions column.

  6. Select Delete.

  7. Click on Confirm.
