The assigning of a Group to a customer account allows you to process payments by group instead of by customer. In addition to this, grouping customers will allow you to perform a deeper analysis of the group behaviors with Komet Analytics.

How to access customer groups data

The system provides a consolidated analysis of sales by group, including year to date (YTD) sales,  year to date (YTD) growth, sales by salesperson, sales by inventory type and more. For further information read Komet Analytics: Sales Dashboards.


Instructions

  1. Go to Setup >> Customers.
  2. Click on the Search button to find the customer that you are going to set up the setting for.
  3. Under the Actions column click on "Edit".
  4. The Customer Information will pop-up, on the Setup tab click on the "Advanced" link.
  5. To assign a Group simply type in the name of a preexisting Group or type a new one to be added if it doesn't already exist, then click on "Save".
  6.  Click on Save.


Information

Keep in mind that when a customer is set on a group, available credits will not apply individually per customer, it cannot be applied to any payment transaction.
