Sorting Inventory products

Overview

The system allows you to change the order that is used to display the items in the inventory.

How this option works

Context

This is specially useful when you need to make sure that certain items are "pushed" by your sales team. The inventory product list is sorted by category and by product within the category. Below is a simple example of how an inventory might look like when a salesperson is adding items to an order:

  • Alstroemeria White Calgary Select
  • Alstroemeria Yellow La Paz Select
  • Carn Assorted Select
  • Carn Red Nelson Select
  • Carn Red Pasha Select
  • Pom Novelty Green Athos
  • Pom Novelty Green Yoko Ono
  • Pom Novelty White Brisa
  • Rose Red Charlotte 60cm
  • Rose Red Freedom 60cm

How does this option work?

Notice that the system is alphabetically sorting using the product category. If you want to change the sort so that a specific category is displayed first (or at any specific location in the inventory) you can do so by changing the category display order. Working with the previous example we want to move the Roses first and the Alstro last so that the inventory looks like this:

  • Rose Red Charlotte 60cm
  • Rose Red Freedom 60cm
  • Carn Assorted Select
  • Carn Red Nelson Select
  • Carn Red Pasha Select
  • Pom Novelty Green Athos
  • Pom Novelty Green Yoko Ono
  • Pom Novelty White Brisa
  • Alstroemeria White Calgary Select
  • Alstroemeria Yellow La Paz Select
