Upload Inventory in Boxes Into Komet Sales

In this article, you will learn how to add items to your inventory using an Excel file from the Add Inventory or Data Import screens.

Upload Boxes

To upload boxes with an Excel file, do the following instructions:

  1. Go to Setup and select Data Import.

  2. Select Inventory in Boxes from the dropdown menu.

  3. Upload the file. Notice that the Confirm Inventory check will automatically confirm the inventory from the staging area once the file is successfully uploaded.

Once the import process is complete, a notification email will be sent to the currently logged-in user informing them if the import was successful. In case of any errors, the system will send an email containing a link that can be used to review the reasons why certain records were not added to Komet Sales.

After uploading the information, we recommend validating that it was imported correctly into Komet Sales inventory.

There's a limit on the number of rows, boxes per line, and boxes per file that can be uploaded into the system at once:

  • The maximum number of boxes per line is 100 boxes.

  • The maximum number of rows per file is 1000 rows.

  • The maximum number of boxes per file is 5000 boxes.

Mixed Boxes Considerations

When uploading mixed boxes, keep in mind the following statements:

  • The Parent Line Breakdown # is required for mixed boxes.

  • All the product lines (including the parent line) within a breakdown must have the same number in this column so the system knows the belong to the same box.

  • The first product row that appears from top to bottom will be the parent line.

  • It is important to include specific details in the breakdown information to help identify products that are mixed in boxes.
