Create Promotional Messages for E-Commerce

In this article, you will learn how to create General and Promotional messages for E-commerce customers.

Roles enabled to perform this action: Admin and Setup.

    


Create a New Promotional Message

To create a new message or promotion for your E-Commerce, do the following instructions:

  1. Go to Setup and select Settings.

    • If you have a multi-location company, click on the Locations tab. 

  2. Click on Promotions and Messages in the E-Commerce group.

  3. Click on the New Message tab.

  4. Add the title and message you want to publish.
    You can also add images in the editor.

  5. Select the date of publishing in the Publish On field or select Publish Now. The time is EST.

  6. Set the expiring date on the Expires On field. The time is EST.

  7. Optional: Check the Make Highlighted Message option if you want to make it your principal messageThe highlighted message is displayed as a window that fills the screen when a customer enters your e-commerce.

  8. Click on Save.

Important information about emoji use:

Emojis are not currently supported in messages. If you use them in your message, please remove them, or the system will not be able to publish it.

Edit Promotional Messages

Once the message is published, Komet will automatically take you to the Message History tab within the Promotions and Messages screen.  In this screen, you will be able to see all of your previous messages.

Under the Actions column, you have the option to EditDelete or Copy message. A message that is selected to be published on a future date or time from the day you originally created the message will appear under the Status column as a  Draft.  Under the Actions column, you have the option to Edit, Delete, Copy, or Publish.

 

 


Make Your Promotional Messages Stand-out

Here are some recommendations on how to format your messages to ensure they stand out and have the highest impact on your customers:

  • Image dimensions: 900px width and proportional height.

  • Image format: JPG

  • Recommended file size: 500 KB

  • Font size:

    • Header: 20-24px - Bold

    • Subheading: 16-18px

    • Body: 14-16px

  • Font colors: For a white background, we recommend using the following colors:

    • Header: #171A1C or #000000 (Black)

    • Body: #32383E or #555E68 (Gray)

  • Other details:

    • Line spacing: 1.5 to ensure readability.

    • Font: We recommend not using all-caps text as this can be hard to read for some people.

How do customers see promotional messages in e-commerce?

When your customers enter your e-commerce, they will see the highlighted message, which will be displayed in the center of their screen. The rest of the messages will be visible when they click on the loudspeaker icon at the top of the screen in a column where they can scroll through a feed containing active messages.
