Place an Order from the E-Commerce
In this article, you will learn how to place an order using the Komet Sales E-commerce portal.
Roles enabled to perform this action: E-commerce Customers.
Create an E-Commerce Order
Go to Komet E-commerce
Optional: If you have more than one company, select the one you require.
Enter the Shipping Information (Shipping Date, Shipping Address, Carrier, Shipping Via, etc).
Find the products you want.
To learn how to search products, read the Product Search in E-Commerce section. In the Order Qty column, enter the number of boxes you want for the product, and click Add.
Once you finish adding products to your order, click on the Shopping Cart to review your order.
Checkout your order by clicking on one of the following options:
Checkout. Select this option to checkout the order without making a payment.
Pay & Checkout. Select this option to pay your order with a credit card.
Click on Place Order to confirm the purchase.
Click on the "X" to finish or click on Continue Shopping if you want to keep shopping.
Your account manager will review the submitted order and approve it. Once approved, you will receive an e-mail invoice (if enabled), and the order status in the Order Summary tab will change to Approved.
There can be a few reasons why your e-commerce order isn't going through, including exceeding the daily cut-off time for same-day processing or an issue with the website's timer during checkout. Read Checkout Problems - E-Commerce for further information.
Take the following statements into account when creating orders in E-Commerce:
When you buy products from the Vendor Availability Inventory, the system will create the orders in boxes.
When the product is available in units, the system will require you to select a box type.
You can print the invoice from the Order Summary tab by clicking on Print Invoice in the Actions column of the order.
Product Search in E-Commerce
There are two methods for searching for products on the Komet E-commerce:
Search Bar:
Enter specific keywords to find products by:
Name: (e.g., Gerbera Blue Iris)
Details: Refine results by length (e.g., 20cm stems), color (e.g., red), or box type (e.g., if is Half Box, type HB).
Category: Search for broader categories (e.g., Lilies).
Sidebar Filters:
Narrow your search using filters as:
Category: Filter by flower type (e.g., Agapanthus, Roses).
Color: Find products in specific colors (e.g., Red, Yellow, White).
Vendor and Inventory Type (if available): Filter by specific companies selling the product.
Combine these methods for the most efficient product search by using the search bar first and then the Sidebar filters.
Buy Products in Units or Bunches
To add products in bunches to your shopping cart, click on the Bunches tab in the products section and follow the instructions in the Create an E-commerce order section.
Unable to purchase by unit?
Your vendor might not have enabled "Sell by the Bunch" yet. To buy units, contact your vendor and ask them to activate this feature.
Expired Lines
Some of your chosen items may become unavailable if the store's cut-off for your selected shipping date has passed so that the lines will show a clock. The system still shows the item lines for reference, but won't be added to your cart unless you pick a later shipping date.
The check box option only appears at the top right of the table if you have expired items in your selection.
Review the Order in your Currency
Products are listed in the company currency, but as you add them to your shopping cart, the price will automatically update to reflect your own local currency. The system currently works with Euro (EUR), United States Dollar (USD), Chinese Yuan (CNY), and South African Rand (ZAR).
You can see the conversion by clicking on your shopping cart. Remember to review your final order before checkout!
E-commerce Time to Checkout
A timer next to the Order Total and the Shopping Cart shows how long these items are reserved for your purchase. This ensures no one else can buy them while you complete your checkout.
The timer starts when you add your first item and resets if you clear your shopping cart.
The countdown might change based on when the products stop processing for the day (cut-off times), the date you choose for them to be shipped (Shipping Date), and the Carrier you pick.
